Changing Worlds can offer the unique opportunity to work in a number of hospitals in a variety of countries around the World.

You can chose to gain relevant experience in Argentina, Ghana, Southern India (in the city of Chennai and in the southern town of Madurai) and Kenya.

This would be valuable experience for those wishing to gain a 'real hands' on in medicine. No previous experience is necessary although it is very welcome by the busy hospitals. This is particularly so in Argentina where you can work with premature babies.

You would arrive to the hospital. On the first day you would be introduced to the director of the hospital who will want to know where you would like to gather your skills. In the past we have had volunteers working in surgery, paediatrics, eye and nose and throat wards. Others have dispensed medicines.

In all cases we can assure that you will gain a real idea of working in a busy hospital. You will see all facets of its operations and we ask that you do not go with too many pre concieved notions. You will be extremely impressed with the professional standards maintained in all our hospitals and you will need to adhere to these high expectations.

We require volunteers who are prepared to be flexible and willing to turn their hands to all types of work.

If possible we like to put you on a rolling programme between hospitals so that you can experience as much as possible during your three month placement.

You will live within the institutions. Accommodation is typically basic but more than adequate.
