How safe will my son/daughter be?

Changing Worlds has thorough procedures in place to ensure a high level of safety for all our participants.

In particular:

- Risk assessments are carried out on all placements in all destinations. Any local security issues are carefully monitored by our in-country representatives. We take advice from the Foreign Office where necessary.

- Our selection procedure, requiring interviews and references, allows us to consider whether a candidate would act responsibly and with consideration for others.

- We prepare and brief our participants thoroughly at our pre-departure courses and on arrival. This covers health and hygiene, personal security, what to do in a crisis and cultural matters.

- There is ongoing support from the host (headteacher/employer), the local Changing Worlds representative and our UK office. All are available to discuss and help with any problems. The local representative provides reports to the UK on the health, welfare and progress of our participants.
