Photos of Uganda gap year

Changing Worlds is sending volunteers to work in the small town of Lugazi in south eastern Uganda.

Lugazi is situated a good one hour drive outside of Kampala on the highway to Jinja to the east.

Lugazi is in the sugar cane growing area of Uganda. Most of the people living in the town are employed by the lcoa sugar refining company.

Lugazi is very close to the edge of the Mabira Forest reserve - the home to monkeys, birds and insects.

The town itself is fairly quiet (the traffic aside!) and volunteers need to be resourceful and take the initiative when looking for local entertainment - other than a few bars and local restuarants it's very much a case of entertaining yourself.

However in Uganda this will not be a problem - the locals are very friendly and you will have a lot of fun.

Volunteers live with local familes in the town.
