Photos of Uganda gap year

Few countries in Africa provide the sort of strategic location that Uganda offers to volunteers. Located at the heart of East and Central Africa, it shares borders with some of Africa's most important and friendly countries, from the mineral rich DR Congo to the rapidly expanding Southern Sudan. Uganda borders the Sudan to the north, the Democratic Republic of Congo to the west, Kenya to the east and Tanzania and Rwanda to the south.

Commonly referred to as the 'Pearl of Africa', Uganda has proved to be the home of almost every bit of what you would love to find in Africa. One tourist put it like this, "If you don't have time and money to visit the whole of Africa then you still have one option called Uganda".

Uganda, bathed by the magnificent scenery of mountains like Rwenzori the only snow capped mountain in the whole of Africa, blessed by the Long River Nile and Lake Victoria.

Life in Uganda is almost possible for any living thing in the world.

The natural smile that is present on almost every Ugandan person and the happy attitude of people makes the country one of the most welcoming and friendly nations to live in. The tourism industry is just a few hours' drive from the capital city, Kampala, with a range of safaris to view.

The country is safe and secure for all kinds of people and with a political stability history of over 30 years Uganda is the place for your placement.

Changing Worlds (in collaboration with Friends in Service International) have projects based in the town of Lugazi.
