Photos of India gap year volunteering

The institutions do their best but can only provide very basic accommodation. This is likely to be on-site and will be shared with other Changing Worlds volunteers. Take some candles with you as the electricity supply is unreliable. The washing and toilet facilities can be poor. You may find you have to wash your hair in a bucket.

You will be offered the same food as the children. This diet can be monotonous and we suggest you supplement this with cheap produce from local markets and shops (there are villages within walking distance).

Volunteers in Madurai live in a house rented specifically for Changing Worlds.

All volunteers will have access to medical facilities. E-mail is common in India.
