Introduction to the Kunyu Shan/Kunyu Mountains in Shandong Province, China
Kunyu Mountain, one sacred mountain venerated by Daoism, is located in the eastern tip of Shandong Peninsular, China with a height of 923 meters above the sea level, and it lies on the crossing of Yantai and Weihai in East China, facing Korea and Japan.
Kunyu Mountain has a great variety of natural wonders and historical relics. There are clusters of odd-shaped peaks and cliffs standing up and down the mountain range. The Mountain hosts a lust forest with aged trees of various kinds, occupied with the spectacular and beautiful lakes and the magnificent falls.
It has good communication facilities and is 50 kilometers away from the railway station, the port and the airport respectively.
As a national forest park and the birthplace of Quan Zhen Tao (Taoism), it is rich in tourist and historical relic resources. Mountain Kunyu ranges rise and fall, with high and precipitous terrain. With its peaks rising one higher than another, its scenery gets more magnificent. It has 72 distinguished peaks of various shapes. The main peak of the mountain is called the" ancestor of wonder mountains " of the East Sea.
The forest coverage of Mountain Kunyu is up to 80%. There are 60 families and 340 species of wood plants, over 600 species of herbaceous plants, and 348 species of ornament flowers. Among them, 14 species are listed as the key plants specially protected by the state. With the beautiful scenery of hills and waters, Mountain Kunyu is one of the most ideal tourist attractions and summer resort in China.
At present, there are already 5 large scenic spots, such as Taibo Summit, Yanxia Cave, Nine--dragon Pond, Yuegu Hall, Wuran Temple, which attract a large number of visitors from home and abroad each year.
Program Contents:
- 1. Learn Kung Fu(Chinese Martial Arts) as a major
- 2. Learn Chinese Mandarin, Calligraphy, Acupuncture as a minor,
- 3. Treks and Climbing Daoist Sacred Mountains nearby.
Kung Fu Training Plan:
●Short term study (1 week -3 months)Shaolin kung fu history and theory, basic punching and kicking with flexibilty training and an introduction to Chi kung and Tai Ji. 1-6 Shaolin fist forms, application, Chinese kick boxing with two person sparring and 1 or 2 basic weapons such as the staff, whip, sword or broadsword as well as basic Chinese conversation, Mandarin, Taoism, Buddhism, Calligraphy, acupuncture and massage. All students have the option to learn hard Chi kung which involves conditioning areas of your body for fighting such as your hands and students who study for 1-3 months and cultivate Chi kung will be able to break a house brick in two with their bare hands.
●Medium term study (4 months - 1year)Shaolin kung fu history and theory, basic punching and kicking with flexibilty training and a more indepth study of Chi kung and Tai Ji. 6-15 Shaolin fist forms including paired practice,application and the option of learning an animal form, Qin na, Chinese kick boxing with two person sparring and more advanced weapons such as spear, double spear, two-section staff, three-section staff, double sticks, double canes (tonfa) as well as Chinese conversation Mandarin, Taoism, Buddhism, Calligraphy, acupuncture and massage. More advanced levels of hard Chi kung can be reached including breaking wooden staffs over your legs and arms with no injury and the breaking of house bricks using your elbow or knee.

The Programme Fee includes the following items:

Visa Arrangements: All candidates need to apply for and obtain the tourist visa for entry into China for Program, and we will sponsor to renew and convert the students visa into business visa when it expires in China. The visa renewal is one guaranteed service at the cost of the applicants. The visa renewal cost varies according to the country-specific policy set by the police department. Each visa renewal for three-month extension will cost about RMB500 yuan for British nationals and about RMB1000 yuan for American passport holders. The visa renewal cost will be paid directly to the police department by the candidates.
