Applicants will need to provide proof of identity including a birth certificate, one item of photographic evidence (e.g. passport, driving licence) and one item of address-related evidence (e.g. bank statement). The applicant will also have to complete and sign the CRB Application Form, which will then be signed by a registered person at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School. If you have a criminal record it is advisable to provide details of this from an early stage. This will be sent separately and confidentially to a designated person within the school. This information will only be seen by those who need to see it as part of our recruitment process. On receipt of the disclosure from the Criminal Records Bureau the school shall consider the following: - Whether the conviction is relevant to the placement
- The seriousness of the offence
- The length of time since the offence
- Whether the applicant has a pattern of offending
- The circumstances surrounding the offence and the explanations offered by the convicted person.
If the applicant has provided false information, or there are serious concerns about the applicant’s ability to live and work with children, the school will report the fact to the police. Failure to reveal information that is relevant to the placement could lead to rejection of the application. The simplest step by step guide on how to complete the CRB application can be found at this link: http://www.crb.gov.uk/pdf/crb11%20guidance.pdf
