It is important for Changing Worlds to use the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Disclosure service in order to check the suitability of applicants for the positions of trust that we offer. This is particularly necessary in relation to all our placements especially those involving children. We observe the CRB Code of Practice which concerns the correct handling, use, storage and disposal of applicants’ information. Changing Worlds also complies with the Data Protection Act 1998. We have a written policy on these matters, which is available in writing on request. Click here for more information. We are obliged to keep the results of your CRB check for six months. The results will only be used for the purpose of checking your suitability for the placement and will not be used by any third party or anyone who is not entitled to receive it. Once the six months have passed, the CRB results will be destroyed. Before releasing the CRB results to any other party (for example, a host family) we will take steps to satisfy ourselves that you will behave in accordance with the CRB Code and Data Protection Act.
